It is based on four equal phases: inhaling for a count of four, holding the breath for a count of four, exhaling for a count of four, and then pausing for a count of four before starting the breath cycle again. This exercise can be a valuable tool to clear your mind, bring you to the present, improve mental focus, and promote a sense of calm.
