No Bake Choc Protein Slice
ingredients
3 cups rolled oats
3 scoops (120g/4oz) plant based protein powder
10 medjool dates (deseeded)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
¾ cup oat milk
¼ cup hemp seeds
½ cup melted dark chocolate, for drizzling
method
1. In a food processor, or high speed blender, add 3 cups rolled oats, 3 scoops (120g/4oz) plant based protein powder, 10 medjool dates (deseeded), 1 tbsp vanilla extract, ¾ cup oat milk and ¼ cup hemp seeds. Blend until all ingredients are well combined (it can be a little chunky!)
2. Spoon mixture into a rectangular baking tray, or pyrex container. Smooth the top of the mixture and press firmly down.
3. Heat up ½ cup of dark chocolate and drizzle over the top of the mixture, making a criss-cross pattern. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
4. Divide the mixture into 5 rectangular portions. Carefully slice and remove the bars from the dish. Keep refrigerated!
Tips
When using a high speed blender you may need to tamp down the ingredients, as the mixture is quite thick.
Use baking paper on the bottom of your dish to make it easier to get the slice out!

This recipe contains a variety of healthy fats, protein and nutrients beneficial for our muscles, brain health and digestive system! Hemp seeds are a great source of plant-based protein, containing all of the essential amino acids. They are known as the building blocks of the body due to their many important roles including building cells, repairing tissue, forming antibodies and carrying oxygen through the body. These processes are essential when you’re working out as your muscles are constantly being torn down and require that extra oxygen and restoration. Scientific reviews have also shown the potential effect hemp seeds have on improving brain conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis and neuropathic pain. This is due to the fatty acid content and polyphenols found in hemp seeds. Another star ingredient in this slice is the oats, which help keep our digestive system happy as they are full of fibre. They also have a satiating effect, meaning you will stay fuller for longer. Grab one of these bars before or after your workout to keep your body happy!
