Anti Inflammatory & Recovery
When inflammation builds up over a long period of time it becomes chronic, and is the main cause of serious diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and cancer. Fortunately, there are plenty of fruit and vegetables that have anti-inflammatory properties that help minimise these risks! Turmeric and pineapple are amongst the best foods to help fight inflammation. The strong yellow powder from the turmeric root contains curcumin, a powerful little fighter that inhibits certain molecules from over-producing and wreaking havoc on your immune system. Pineapple contains a protein-digesting enzyme called bromelain which helps to fight any pain and swelling. By combining these ingredients in your smoothie with orange juice, oat milk and nuts, means you’re reducing the risk of disease and aiding in your body’s recovery process. By adding these electrolyte and protein-rich foods to your smoothie, it’s fuelling your muscles and giving you energy required before or after those tough workouts!
